Sinhala, or Sinhalese, is one of the national languages of Sri Lanka. This one is inspired by my attempts to study the language. Here you can see a woman lounging in a hammock reading a book in Sinhala (made from a local Sinhala newspaper I bought on the street in Colombo). The letters of both Sinhala, and Tamil (Tamil is the other national language besides English) are beautiful!! They are like little pieces of artwork themselves and inspired lots of my art throughout the years I lived there. What languages do you speak or read? Are there any new ones you would like to learn?
